A data-driven comparison of women’s health outcomes and state policy environments across the U.S.
Across the United States, women’s health outcomes differ dramatically from state to state. Some states have expanded access to contraception, postpartum care, and reproductive services while others have limited them through restrictive policies.
This project quantifies those differences through a Policy Score and a Health Outcome Score, then visualizes their relationship across the country. The data reveal a clear pattern: states with stronger advocacy and access policies consistently demonstrate better health outcomes (r = 0.67).
